I took this netbook, in part because it was advertised as an LED backlit display and it was advertised as "green" laptop. However, after I bought it, I realized that this was anything but. I turned over, saying that as a result. "Lamp contains mercury. Dispose of in accordance with applicable local and national." As we all know, has brought them contain mercury, CCFL do. So there you have it … Netbook on the back - this is a laptop backlight CCFL although advertised as a LED backlight. He also said that the cable shows the manual handling of lead, a chemical known State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or reproductive harm … lovely. I tried to ask Toshiba's "technical assistance" on it and were useless .. could not even pronounce the ice. Needless to say that I'm back soon.

Samsung NP-NC10-KB02US 10.1 inch Netbook Computer (Blue) Review

I have used my blue Samsung NC-10 for a few months now, and I like it very much. However, as warned by other reviewers, opening the plastic cover on the bottom to upgrade the RAM from one Gig to two was hair-raising. Very difficult and scary.

The Samsung Netbook is a good size keyboard, which is great for writing. I love the speakers built into the page. 6 hours battery works great too. I would recommend this netbook for those looking to buy a lighter, more mobile to be connected to the Internet.

Prior to owning this machine, I had been carting around an Apple iBook for years. After two days wasted trying to install a piece of software that I was certain was supported by Windows, I finally gave up and purchased one of these netbooks.

This little note book is perfect for when my wife and I travel. We were always having to stop a local libraries hotels or other places that we could access a computer. Now we just need to find a friendly WiFi spot and we can find local attractions buy tickets, find restaurants ets. Great deal, right price.

I turned to find that she said the following. "Lamp contains mercury. Dispose of in accordance with applicable local and national." As we all know, the LEDs do not contain mercury, CCFL's do. So there you have it … written on the back of the Netbook - this laptop is CCFL backlit although advertised as LED backlighting. He also said that the manual handling of the cable are exposed to lead, a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or reproductive harm … lovely. I tried to ask Toshiba's "technical support" up and were useless .. could not even pronounce LED. Needless to say I returned as soon as possible.

Acer Aspire One AOD250-1924 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - 7.5 Hour Battery Life Review

I bought one of these last winter for my wife before going to travel Europe, and we liked it so much I bought another one this summer as a backup for my (too big) laptop.
The battery life we get out of it is enough to last the whole 10 hour flight from Caracas to Paris. It is not as powerful as a state of the art laptop such as the one I spend my life on, but all in all it has all what we need, provided that you add an external optic drive (which we did).
It is more than enough for on-the-road communication, accounting and photo processing and storage and though the video card and the cranking power will not allow you to play fancy flight simulators they are well suited to travel needs.
I had to use if occasionally for a quick fix in code and I feared it would be a drag to edit source files on such a samll screen or that it would take ages to compile but no: the screen is really good and, though not as wide as I would need on a daily basis, enough to perform the tasks at hand. The building of the project was noticeably slower than with my work horse but in no way outrageous.
When on the road with it I don’t need to unplug all my lab from the main laptop every night: I can Skype my wife from the hotel and read the news at breakfast - very convenient.
All in all a great backup/on-the-road PC.
