Review - MSI Wind Netbook U120-024US
Pros: Big Hard Drive, Webcam, 10 "Bright Screen, Low Prices
Cons: wireless g, but no wireless N.
Summary: If you are a little more than just connecting to the internet in the cafeteria, should have the MSI Wind U120-024US Netbook do the trick. With a lot of disk space and slightly larger screen than the typical netbook, the MSI Wind netbook, you can actually do some work.
I've never been a big fan of these netbooks. The early actuallyhad less memory and processing power than my Blackberry. However, we are now experiencing some of the new Intel Atom processor, 10 are "screens, and above all, a genuine 160GB hard drive! Installed with Windows XP, you can now focus all your Office applications and software you run on your would desktop. Now you can actually work a bit. In fact, for standard office / student use, this can be your only computer. Just add a USB keyboard / mouse and add a 20 "monitor, and you haveis a virtual desktop.
The Wireless-G is sufficient for 99. 9% of wireless users at once, but Wireless-N is the latest and greatest. Although technically faster than Wireless-G there is real benefit in the area. But do not let the fact that it runs on wireless G to keep you from buying. I know of no hotspots, which is the wireless N with know right now, and use for home and office, probably not a problem area.
As for the processor and memory. The MSI Wind NetbookU120-024US Intel Atom used, which is primarily designed to extend battery life by using less power. For a variety of benchmarks, it outperforms in office applications and multimedia decoding (playing DVD's for example). For games and other graphics-intensive applications, high, it falls well short processors in larger 6 pound laptop.
The MSI Wind Netbook U120-024US comes with 1 GB of memory and can be expanded up to 2 GB. For normal use on a Windows XP operating system this should be ok.Typically you will only notice that your system is slow when you have several applications open at the same time. If you ever have multiple applications open at once, is a 2-GB upgrade cheap and you'll be glad you did it. Otherwise, you just open one thing at a time and close it every time before opening the next about done.
I really can not comment too much on the webcam. It works, the picture is decent in bright light, and it will work with all major messengersServices. Nothing to brag here, but it is there when you need it.
In summary, the netbook MSI Wind U120-024US no longer a Blackberry, let us do, Excel spreadsheets and Word documents, checks your e-mail, and comes with a real hard drive for storing your work. Also for the 10 "big enough for you to really see things. The amazing thing about his netbook is the price. The cost of roughly the same as the other netbooks that do not have a real hard drive.
