I was looking for something simple, a lightweight word processor with a standard-sized keyboard and modest sized screen. For this price this has worked out perfectly for me. I’m mildly annoyed by the touchpad’s sensitivity, but otherwise it’s done everything I’ve asked of it. Would buy again and recommend to friends.

I was skeptical at purchasing an Acer Netbook because I have always purchased Dell, HP, IBM or Compaq in the past and did not know if the Acer Netbook could compare. Let me tell you, it does not compare. It far exceeds all these other brands and out performs them. It is like apples and oranges. The Acer Aspire is in another league. A very good looking, comfortable to carry and use, and quick as lightning. I purchased it for my wife because of price and I already had a Dell Mini 10. Well let me tell you I have purchased me one also and the Mini 10 is for sale.

I have been using lot of laptops and desktops. This got added as most recent netbook to my collection. Z520 processor feels like bit on the slower side, but if you uninstall Anti-virus and MSOffice Student ver and etc and have AVG anti-virus installed. It runs pretty smooth. I didn’t face any issue with youtube or by playing DivX videos through VLC Media player. If you know how to keep your laptop optimized, I bet you don’t feel performance degradation.

I purchased the Acer Aspire One 751h-1401 and it is a great piece of art. I am very impressed with the quality and features of this Product. I purchased at Wal-Mart on special for 8.00+Tax, included one year parts and labor warranty. Trouble-free to set and great Key board, full size. It has a 3 cell Battery which lasted about 3.5 hours working straight on it running multi- programs. Wow, this little thing is amazing. It has all the basic programs you need to be on the go. I researched several mini net books and this one caught my eye because is 11.6″ vs. 10.1″ Screen. For the price you can’t beat it, Acer Aspire One AO751h-1401 White 11.6 2GB 250GB 3Cell VHB 11.6″ Notebook ,(Vista Home Basic) 5 in 1 digital media reader, 3 cell battery, best of all Windows Vista, most netbooks run on Win XP, which eventually will go away….. Ever since the Trash 80 I’ve survived hardware and software crashes that would keep anyone from touching a computer again. Only a new laptop could solve the current problem and not just a bigger hard drive, which was my first choice. The last laptop I purchase was a used Sony 300MHz VAIO with a 30 Gig hard drive for 0. Its now used only for meal planning, email, word processing and a variety of other suitably s-l-o-w tasks. So I was not expecting very much for 0, if you know what I mean. Dang, was I ever surprised! New on the market the Sony was over ,500 so naturally to get over a Ghz and a 250 GIG drive I feel like with the Aspire I automatically have a good deal. Right off the bat with no changes or updates it ran streamed Netflix video with just a bit more low resolution patches than I enjoy but even my dual core 2.4 gig desktop shows a couple of patches every now and then and this may actually be the network rather than the computer. Once I updated the BIOS and the ACER and Windows Vista software AND downloaded a copy of Firefox the laptop was good to go. I have to use a magnifying glass or the software magnifier in the accessibility options folder for seeing text in full screen resolutionbut then I have to wear them anyway to see 10 pica Times New Roman. After watching part of a movie or two (I instaled Power DVD 5 since the bundled version 8 was not working…) along with writing this review and surfing the web for a couple of hours I won’t part with this baby now. Perfect for the road when you need to “bee” out there fast and light. Perfect if the other computers at office, home or at the library are at critical times in use. Perfect for a low budget. The only thing I would (and may) change is Vista. It won’t let me use the c:\ drive for txt files and other stuff where my programs are already pointing. Forget upgrading to get Windows Aero. You’ll need a slightly faster video adapter than the one that is built in. Be sure the configuration you select has everything you were expecting. I was expecting a built-in Bluetooth module but had to use my own USB adapter. The only way to get a better all around deal is to wait a couple of years.
