I had been thinking about buying a 10″ netbook for quite a while and finally did it! I’ve just had it a few days, but already I feel that it is just what I wanted for traveling. It is so small, but still very usable, and I love the red color! It has only 1 GB memory and 250 GB hard drive. That’s not a lot of memory, but for my purposes I think it will be just fine. It was a great buy at Amazon!
I am so happy with this netbook. The battery life is amazing and it handles just like a full sized lap top. I highly recommend this product. I haven’t had any problems with it. I wish the sound/speakers were better but, an ear bud solved any issues.
I was looking for something simple, a lightweight word processor with a standard-sized keyboard and modest sized screen. For this price this has worked out perfectly for me. I’m mildly annoyed by the touchpad’s sensitivity, but otherwise it’s done everything I’ve asked of it. Would buy again and recommend to friends.
I’ve never really used a PC for more than a few minutes at a time at a friend’s house. I’ve been a Mac guy since 1992 when I began college and first got into graphic design. I have always hated Windows and I have always thought non-Macs felt like cheap junk, the interface always seemed difficult and clunky whether it was Windows 95 or XP. I have only tested Vista and 7 in the stores until I finally bought the bullet and just decided to get this little netbook… because, let’s face it, Apple dropped the ball with that iPad crap.
Going for the rounded look with a curved lid of the Asus Eee PC 1005PEB definitely looks cool with burnt ocher color to cover Burgundy. While the design is nice and solid, the color alone is enough to set it apart from other netbooks in the same class. The netbook has many of the design aspects that make the Asus Eee PC lineup as successful as rounded corners and a slightly conical lid.

We got our Z520 yesterday. It is as small and as light as they say it is. Works fine.
The only issues I have are ones I think you’ll find on about any new computer:
* Comes with over 20 programs of “bloatware” or software I’m not going to use. Mostly games, all kinds and flavors. Took me about 30 minutes to remove all of them.
* Although it comes with XP Home, you still need to install over 30 updates from Microsoft. (To do this, connect to the Internet, bring up a browser, and go to update.[...])
